From 2018-2022, EvoLeipzig was the first place-based initiative to use the Global ESD framework within a German language context.

The project resulted in an extensive set of resources that remain available on EvoLeipzig.de (and the permanent google site archive: https://sites.google.com/view/evoleipzig/home), and which are being migrated and improved within the growing OpenEvo database system.

The project included collaboration with the Leipzig Zoo Schule (Zoo School) and the Leipzig Montessori School. The resulting multi-year classroom collaboration resulted in the publication of our Hanisch & Eirdosh (2020) paper in Science and Education: Causal mapping as a teaching tool for reflecting on causation in human evolution.
