A School Fit for Humans?

A questionnaire or interview protocol to capture conceptions about the Self-Directed Education model of school design.

Authors: Dustin Eirdosh, Susan Hanisch

This questionnaire introduces participants to a school model that has no exams, no grades, and no homework, gives students a lot of freedom regarding when, what, how to learn, as well as a voice in school governance. Some education researchers think that such a school model is better suited for human nature than the kinds of schools that are prevalent in most places today, because of how our species has been teaching and learning throughout our evolutionary history.

Participants reflect on how similar or different this school model is to their own school experience and how preferable they think this school model is. They also reflect on the argument that such a school model is better suited for humans.
