Conceptual understanding of human moral cognition may be relevant to the development of psychologically and culturally adaptive flexibility, especially in socially contentious areas of public discourse.

For this reason, we suggest integrating conceptual learning and reflection on human moral psychology as required preparation for engaging in contentious public discourse.
